Summer 2011. Has had its moments. All in all a pretty good summer.

Labor Day has arrived signalling the end of summer. Alice already has been at school for several days preparing her classroom. Friends have been staying with us having no electricity for a week or so thanks to Hurricane Irene. We lost a lot of branches but, thankfully, none of our 110' oaks. Can't say the same for Lesly and Lenny--four major trees including one atop their house. Lauren and Eric added a swimming pool--unfortunately it was in their basement. Kind of took the edge off enjoying their new kitchen. Ethan and Emmy have reached their eighth and fifth birthdays and are awaiting the start of a new school year. The Rosenbergs experienced a monsoon, earthquake, evacuation and hurricane during a single week of vacation. Jay and Steph have enjoyed the summer home together witnessing Jolie's growth as she nears her half-birthday. Phyllis and Jerry have sold their home and are awaiting a move to North Shore Towers. Alice and I traveled to Nashville, Toronto, the Berkshires enjoying very different experiences. My Merrick Seagulls softball team enters the playoffs with the hope of winning our division for a third consecutive season.

Hoping your summer was at least as fortunate as ours, here's a few pictures:
