It's a long, long time from May to December

Oh, it’s a long, long while
from May to December

But the days grow short

when you reach September . . .

Where has summer gone?  Seems Alice and I were just watching the hyacinths and daffodils popping up.

And shortly we'll be packing for Delray Beach. Time is moving  along so quickly--that means life has been good.

Not sure I can do that with a basketball. Never could. (What's more, I may be losing my grip).

School's Out. Now the Fun Begins. Time Sure Does Fly.

Here's hoping Emmy learns to play the clarinet better than Poppy and Lauren. Then again, she may actually practice from time to time.

Poppy and Grandma are going to have to learn the rules of lacrosse. Clueless.

Has it been that long since Brynn was getting around on her butt?

Sunshine loves flowers

End of another school year. Emmy can't wait for fourth grade.

Ethan off to Merrick Middle School.  A joyful yet terrifying moment for grandparents.

Summer Fun Awaits

Visiting Day at Blue Ridge/Equinunk

Summer lovin', had me a blast

Summer lovin', happened so fast

Summer days drifting away

Take me out to the ball game
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks
I don't care if I never get back

Dearest fadduh, darling muddah,
How's my precious little bruddah?
Let me come home if ya miss me
I will even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me.

The nose knows

Bees'll buzz, kids'll blow dandelion fuzz
And I'll be doing whatever snow does
In summer

Summertime, and the livin' is easy

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

Summer days driftin' away
To uh-oh, those summer nights

Splish, splash, I was takin' a bath
Long about a Saturday night
A rub dub, just relaxin' in the tub
Thinkin' everythin' was alright

They say that all good things must end some day

Autumn leaves must fall

But don't you know that it hurts me so

To say goodbye to you

Wish we didn't have to go

No no no no

                                           ***************

. . . Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few

September, November

And these few precious days I'll spend with you

And the wine dwindles down to a precious brew

September, November

And these few vintage years I'll spend with you

These precious years I'll spend with you

Barletta Way

Now when we look back over all the fun we had
If our lifestyle's over now it sure is sad
We gotta get back to livin' without a care
Give me sunshine water                      and an ozone layer

Winter (winter?) is Behind Us

This has been, according to all reports, a very difficult winter on Long Island. But togetherness blunts the toll of snow, ice and frost.  It's amazing how much grandkids change in a few months. We missed them greatly.
Florida life affords opportunity to enjoy what Mother Nature too often interferes with. While it's great to be back HOME in Merrick, our new place and friendships in Delray Beach make for a year-round wonderful life.
In few words, Alice and I continue to enjoy greatly both experiences and realize how rich our lives are. Here's why.
