Goldin/Friedman Update

The DIY label Exploding in Sound is the brainchild of Dan Goldin, the son of Alice's sister, Shelly and her husband, Bruce.

Dan was recently interviewed by the magazine Aux.Out. Just in case you are not a regular reader of the magazine, you can read the interview at http://consequenceofsound.net/2013/10/the-oral-history-of-exploding-in-sound-records/

Not to outdone by younger bro, Sarah also has been a producer. Oliver, recently two years old, has a baby sister, Daphne.

Kreutzberger Family Archive

Have been scanning photos accumulating in boxes for years.

Congratulations, Eleanor and Bernie

Dear friends Eleanor and Bernie were married at their home in Delray Beach in early December.  We'll be vacationing with the newly-marrieds and spending New Years Eve together.

A better joke Emmy told at family Thanksgiving gathering at Phyllis/Jerry home:

A man is walking along and notices a hole in the ground . . . then another . . .and then another.

What did the man say?  (scroll down for the answer)

 Drum roll, please . . . .

'Well . . . well . . . well.'

Gotta admit, the girl shows promise.

STAR Renewals

I don't recall having to submit an application to re-new the Basic STAR Tax Exemption for a primary residence. That said, one must file to maintain eligibility. Register with the Tax Department to continue receiving the exemption in 2014 and forward.

Jolie is a Big Sister

This afternoon Jay and Stephanie welcomed Brynn Sophie into the family.  Brynn, at birth, looks very much like big sister, Jolie.

Brynn measured eight pounds and 19.5 inches.
She has shown a very mellow temperament.
Jay and Steph are doing just fine.

L'Shana Tovah. Wishing all our friends and their families a year of peace, health and joy.

Peace:  Hopefully, progress made in the Middle East the past few days will bring about peace and stability. Let's hope so.

Health: Mom always said, 'If you've got your health, you've got your wealth.' She nailed that one.

Joy: We spent the holidays with our kids and grand-kids. Nothing brings Alice and me greater joy.

Break Fast following Yom Kippor. Like we hadn't eaten in weeks.

Start of a New School Year

Jolie may have loved her first bus ride more than her first day of pre-school.

Ethan made the basketball travel team.

Hey Coach, You expect me to defend this guy?
What took so long? Emmy has finally lost a tooth..

A Wonderful Time in Southern France

Had it been suggested, not so very long ago, that we vacation in France, our response would have been 'not likely'. Southern France was very different from our previous experience in the '70s. Friendly and gracious people, gorgeous panoramas and incredible medieval towns. More than enough to have us returning next summer.
